Beautifully Preserved Antique Hand-crafted Japanese Dragon Table (Circa 1920)
Handcrafted in Japan, circa 1920, this show-stopper has clearly been cared for and is in remarkable condition. A spectacular work of art and craftsmanship, the table features a heavily carved apron and ornately carved, sloped dragon legs with "claw" feet. It has no cracks and no nicks, only a partial watermark on the surface (see photo of top of the table). This imperfection brings the Japan notion of wabi-sabi to the piece; the acceptance of transience and imperfection. At over 100 years of age, this relic of a time passed gives one a glimpse into the history of the culture of Japan. It is a bit of magic that would bring a sense of wonder into your home!
