Mahogany and Mahogany veneer antique folding/flip top game table, late 1820's early 1830's, Early American. *Scroll foot base with tapered center column. *Storage compartment below top, early original brass hinges. Great craftsmanship throughout, good overall condition in old ca 1920's refinish, some blemishes in finish. One veneer chip on BACK of base consistent with age and use. Secondary wood in base is pine and storage compartment bottom is poplar; indicates New York, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey origin. Center column is joined to base and top with mortise and tennon joint. Repair to finish on left corner of top, whole top not refinished to preserve old finish and Patina.
