Fabulous mid-century modern two-tiered white laminate particle board rectangle Parson’s style coffee or end table and optional rectangle glass top. Beautiful vintage condition. A hairline crack in the laminate has been repaired on the base of one leg and very small chips around the feet. Please see photos. Circa 1960-1970’s. NOTE: We also have a lovely pair of white laminate Parson’s end or side tables listed for sale separately that would make a wonderful trio when harmonized with this coffee table. Also, the glass is in wonderful condition but if you wish, you can opt out of the glass, this has been priced with that in mind, although it may help with shipping costs. Simple, yet so appealing! Parson’s style is such a classic design that dates to 1930 when French designer Jean-Michael Frank decided he was going to design a table that was simple enough that it could fit into any home regardless of style preference. Contemporary, mid-century modern, or modern, Parson’s style tables just work anywhere. This one is rectangle with a beautiful rectangle glass top AND it’s two tiered, giving you a convenient shelf for remotes or magazines! At 18 5/8 inches tall, it is a bit taller than most conventional coffee tables, but not much and it may be just the right fit for your space! It would also make a wonderful side or end table. Endless possibilities! The original Parson’s table was designed in New York City at the Parson’s School of Design by French designer Jean-Michael Frank in the 1930’s. There is an article that states, "Frank challenged students to design a table so basic that it would retain its integrity whether sheathed in gold leaf, mica, parchment, split straw or painted burlap, or even left robustly unvarnished. What grew out of Frank's sketches and the students' participation was initially called the T-square table. Parsons tables are often intended for use as modern or contemporary furniture, and their striking design has made them popular as coffee tables, dining tables, side tables, and occasional tables. No need to think about this anymore, you need to make it yours!!
