Signed Pair Zwiener Bronze Oak Breche D' Alep Marble Console Tables
This is a pair of absolute masterpieces of the famous firm Zwiener who made some of France's finest Louis XV replicas of the second period, since the first period was 1760s era, and these are from the 1870s era. They were considered some of the finest furniture makers in the world at the that time. The breche d' alep marble is the most highly prized of all of the French marbles. They are in superb condition for their age and have no major condition issues and measures 46.75 wide x 53.25 tall x 18.5 deep. The bronze mounts stamped to the reverse ‘’ZJ’ for Zwiener / Jansen Successeur. Zwiener Jansen Successeur was part of the celebrated firm of Maison Jansen which was founded in Paris in 1880 by Jean-Henri Jansen, circa 1895-1900 Jansen bought some of the master models of the celebrated furniture maker Joseph-Emmanuel Zwiener, who had left Paris to return to Germany, and renamed the business 'Zwiener Jansen Successeur'.
