Unique Art Deco Coffee or Occasional Table, All-Aluminum, with Mirrored Tray/Top
Anybody out there looking for unique, one-of-a-kind fabulous Art Deco? Presenting a 1920s or 30s French, all-aluminum mirrored coffee or “occasional” table. The styling of this table is clearly Moderne, moving right along into Machine Age aesthetic, but it has that charming organic and naturalistic, Art Deco-related touch on the sides of the top, two linear bouquets of stylized flowers! Really, do we need to say it again? Yes, how French! Perfect coffee table height at 16 ½. The top can easily be removed (four small ball-ended thumb screws, two under each of the handles) for use as a tray! And what could be more chic than serving your guests dessert and tea on this tray?! The “working area” of the tray measures 22 by 14. Overall dimensions: including the handles, 26 ½ by 16 ½ by 16 ½ high. This table isn’t particularly heavy (it only weighs 12 ½ pounds), and although the base is quite wide (diameter: 13”) -- and as a result the table is quite stable -- you probably won’t want to be piling heavy books on one end! Generally speaking aluminum can be polished to heart’s content. This table has been gone over with fine steel wool and has a “brushed” look. As the aluminum wasn’t wheel-polished to begin with it would probably be best to leave it the way it is. The mirror is a brand-new replacement.
